Becoming An Outdoors Woman (BOW)

Since 1991, the TWRA has been encouraging women to get outdoors through the Becoming An Outdoors Woman (BOW) program. This program exists in all 50 states and several Canadian provinces, with many offering multiple opportunities.

BOW is designed for women who are interested in learning outdoor skills that are new to the outdoors. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency hosts several BOW events every year.

Our events include canoe trips, muzzleloader workshops, basic archery, basic firearms, reading the woods, ATV operation, Dutch oven cooking, fly-fishing, nature photography, and much, much more.  There are one-day workshops  and an entire weekend workshop filled with classes and activities every aspiring outdoors-woman will enjoy.

Upcoming Events

Registration for the workshop is on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, two weeks' priority will be given to first-time participants. The cost of the workshop will include meals and camping,
